On the occasion of the World Environment Day, the city of Banyuls-sur-Mer, Plastic@Sea and the Oceanological Observatory of Banyuls affirm their approach of prevention against the plastic pollution of our Oceans.
We are organising a weekend to raise awareness of the importance of pollution caused by abandoned household packaging waste . Indeed, 80% of the waste found at sea comes from the land. " Banyuls goes green" will take place from 3 to 5 June 2022. This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN for 2030.
Throughout the weekend, several actions are organised in the city: a large waste collection (city, beach, marina) and a solutions forum. But also film/debate, round table and awareness-raising actions.
This is an important event, which will become an annual meeting, where everyone is invited to become a player in the ecological transition.

See you in the districts of Banyuls!
